FSA and Early Help Offer
Our Family Support Advisor (FSA) is Mrs Allen.
Mrs Allen works with both children in school and their families to support with emotional wellbeing and making sure children are able to reach their full potential.
She runs our Nurture Group where children have the opportunity to develop their social and emotional skills and confidence. She has also trained as an ELSA - Emotional Literacy Support Assistant and runs daily groups across the school developing and teaching skills to enable children to have strong mental health and resilience.
Another large part of her role is to support families who are experiencing difficulties, for example through a separation or marital breakdown, bereavement or struggling with the stresses of every day life. Mrs Allen can help families access additional support from outside agencies either directly or through the CAF (Common Assessment Framework) process. This could include the school nursing team, Young Carers, and Shared Parenting.
Mrs Allen is available both before and after school to meet with parents at these times:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday between 8.30am and 9.00am or 3.15pm and 4.00pm.
Her contact details are: firstname.lastname@example.org
Early Help Offer
Our Family Support Advisor also leads on our Early Help Offer. This is an approach we use to support families through difficult times and access additional support if necessary. Our aim is to help children and families at the first sign of difficulties in order to prevent problems from escalating.
Our Early Help Offer is linked closely to our Safeguarding policy and procedures and our Family Support Advisor meets regularly with members of the SLT (Senior Leadership Team) to discuss individual children and families who would benefit from early help.
Our Early Help Offer includes all of the following school processes and procedures:
- Family Support Advisor support
- PHSE curriculum, including online safety teaching
- ELSA groups
- Nurture group
- Lunchtime Playleaders
- Pupil Progress meetings
- Attendance monitoring
- Signposting to outside agencies
