Phonics Open Afternoon - 18th September 2025
Dear Families,
On Thursday 18th September at 2.00pm, we would like to invite the parents and carers of children in Early Years, Year 1 and Year 2 to join us for a Phonics Open Afternoon.
You will be able to watch a phonics lesson taking place and see the types of activities your children do on a daily basis to learn to read. If you have children in more than one of these classes, feel free to wander between their classrooms.
This will then be followed by a workshop led by Mrs Wognum – our English Leader, sharing how we teach children to read in school and what you can do as parents to support your children at home.
It is also an opportunity to see your children in their classes and be impressed – like we are – by how quickly they have settled into the new school year.
If you are able to join us, please complete the form below. When you arrive, please enter school through the main entrance, not classroom doors, and we look forward to seeing you at 2.00pm on Thursday 18th September.
