Free school meals - Early Years, Years 1 and 2

Under the Universal Free School Meals initiative, all children in Early Years, Year 1 and Year 2 are eligible to receive a school meal every day free of charge.

Free school meals and Pupil Premium

If you are in receipt of certain benefits then your child may be eligible for free school meals irrespective of the year group they are in.  If you meet the criteria we would encourage you to apply even if your child is in Early Years, Year 1 or Year 2 or even if you would prefer your child to have a packed lunch. This is because part of our budget allocation, known as Pupil Premium, is based on the number of children entitled to these free school meals. This extra money helps us to provide support groups throughout the school along with much needed additional resources.

Paid school meals

If you wish your child to receive a school meal, current cost £2.30,  it is important to ensure that these are paid for in advance. Please see this letter for details on how we deal with school meals that have not been paid for.
