Nurture Group
The Nurture Group is an opportunity for children to work in smaller group settings, allowing them to gain extra support in areas identified by their class teacher.
Why do we have a Nurture Group?
We believe Every Child Matters.
The aim of the group is to help children’s self confidence grow and develop their communication skills. We have found this has had an extremely positive effect on their school performance in all areas of the curriculum.
When does it happen?
During afternoon sessions through the week on a time co-ordinated with the Class Teacher and Nurture Leader.
What happens in Nurture Group?
Each class that participates in the Nurture Group will have 2 children attend so they have someone to share the experience with.
Some activities include circle time, art, games, literacy, maths, PSHE,science, cooking, obstacle courses and every day has toast time.
“I like painting.”
“I am happy at the bungalow as I can spend time with children from other classes.”
“We get to share our toys from show and tell.”
“I like toast time because I am always hungry.”
“I like washing up after toast time.”
“I like having snack time with the other children.”
